Guy and Roni receive the Jiří Kylián Ring
At the opening of the Holland Dance Festival, the Club Guy & Roni founders were awarded the prestigious Jiří Kylián Ring.
The ring was presented by Paul Bronkhorst in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien.
The Jiří Kylián Ring honours artists with an exceptional and lasting impact on the field of dance. Weizman and Haver receive the award for their influence on the Dutch and international dance landscape and for continuously pushing interdisciplinary theatre to new levels.
In their speech, Guy and Roni described the ring not as an object, but as a space one enters: a shared responsibility for the art form and for the ongoing dialogue between what has been passed on and what still needs to be discovered. They spoke about care for the people who practise this art, the necessity of continuously searching for new forms, and the importance of human values such as equality, safety, and compassion – values under increasing pressure today.
The award follows their Gouden Zwaan (2025), the Dutch lifetime achievement award for dance makers.
