Swan Lake (in theater) + Swan Lake The Game (in the online theater NITEhotel.org) is a remix of the Russian ballet in the form of an online and offline theater event that takes place simultaneously and influences each other. Nothing stays the way it was in this Swan Lake, including the eclectic music of Georgian / Swiss multi-talent Kordz who lets the musicians go all out with the famous sounds of Tsjaikovski.
Swan Lake in theater
In Swan Lake the visitors in groups of maximum 30 people move through the theatre like waves. The performance does not take place in one room, but in the entire building. Each group visits three locations and sees three acts of which the execution is different each time, depending on the choices of the audience.
Swan Lake The Game
The NITE Hotel reopens its virtual doors to host the digital version of the performance Swan Lake: The Game. A unique virtual environment, an immersive experience, and an all-round view of the performers will bring you into the story as never before. Together apart, you will be moving through the theatre with fellow spectators, proceeding from act to act as a damselfly. Together apart as the multi-talented cast of the performance: each dancer has their own solo, but together they create the unique narrative of Swan Lake.
The black swan
Swan Lake is a performance about our desire to escape into a perfect fairy-tale world and the danger of losing touch with reality. The term black swan is used to denote an economic phenomenon that was impossible to predict but nevertheless has a huge effect on the system. How should we proceed now that the combined black swan of Covid-19 and the climate crisis has upended our fairy-tale democratic, liberal consumer’s paradise? Will we start a new story together?

Everyone has a say, and with this influence comes responsibility. By spotlighting the Swan Lake audience’s responsibility, the creators of the piece aim to explore how we might proceed following a crisis. You decide how this fairy tale ends.
