NITE and Club Guy & Roni are looking for a 1st inspicient. Starting autumn 2025 (exact date to be discussed).

Are you a communicative, technically skilled, and solution-oriented all-rounder with leadership potential? We’re looking for a 1st inspicient to join our team.

Who are we?

We are Club Guy & Roni (contemporary dance) and NITE – the National Interdisciplinary Theater Ensemble. We create high-energy, innovative, interdisciplinary performances that attract young, diverse, and curious audiences—both in theatres and beyond. Together, we form the largest interdisciplinary theatre company in the Netherlands. Music plays a key role in everything we do.

Our company culture is professional, open, excellent, and respectful. These values allow us to achieve both our artistic and social ambitions. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Who are we looking for?

1st inspicient
Full-time
Starting autumn 2025 (exact date t.b.d.)

What will you do?

As 1st inspicient, you are responsible for the technical execution and coordination of our performances during rehearsals, set-ups, and on tour. You have a broad technical skill set and feel a shared responsibility with the tech team to ensure the highest possible quality. You ensure smooth collaboration across all technical departments while keeping the artistic vision front and center.

You are able to reproduce the technical setup of our shows in different theatres and maintain oversight during performances. You work closely with our Head of Technical Production, production managers, and the artistic team, serving as a vital link between creative and technical departments.

In addition to touring productions, you’ll also work on projects and events at our home base: the Machinefabriek in Groningen. Together with your colleagues, you help maintain the technical inventory and support the general upkeep of the building. While your main focus will be on performances, you’ll also assist in building sets, lighting, sound, rigging, and video installations.

We’re looking for someone with a hands-on, proactive attitude—someone who is flexible, creative, and solution-oriented. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team with specialisations in lighting, sound, video, and set design. Within this team, there’s room for initiative, self-direction, collaboration, and collective responsibility. You’ll be the person who maintains an overview, leads the show crew, and connects the team on the floor.

This is not a 9-to-5 job. You’ll need to be comfortable working evenings and weekends, especially during build-ups and premieres. Because of the irregular hours, we prefer someone who lives in or is willing to relocate to the Groningen area.

What do you bring?

  • A degree in technical theatre with a focus on production coordination;
  • At least MBO-4 level (PET) or similar education, or a background in Design & Technology from the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in theatre or live events and an up-to-date knowledge of the field;
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Experience with Vectorworks is a plus;
  • Ability to make clear decisions and set priorities under pressure;
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams.

What do we offer?

  • A dynamic workplace with room for creativity and personal initiative, located in one of the most beautiful theatres in Groningen;
  • A friendly, diverse team of colleagues from different backgrounds;
  • A full-time (40 hours) contract for one year, with the possibility of extension;
  • Salary and terms in line with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Theatre and Dance, scale VII: €3,162 – €4,854 gross per month (based on experience, full-time);
  • 27 vacation days and 12 additional days (ATV) per year (based on full-time);
  • Pension scheme through PFZW;
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development tailored to your needs.
