Mohamedou Ould Slahi wins PAX peace prize

Dutch peace orginization PAX annually celebrates special peace initiatives with the awarding of the PAX Duiven (PAX peace doves). This year, one of the wooden peaces doves will go to our writer-in-residence Mohamedou Ould Slahi.
“Receiving the PAX Dove 2022 touches me deeply. The fact that my message of peace, forgiveness and connection resonates with an increasing group of people means everything to me. I dedicate the award to my late mother Mayem. Her image with her prayer beads in her hands, hoping for my safe return, is etched in my memory. For me, the prize symbolizes my quest for peace of mind. I hope she is proud of the way she raised me. Thiw award strengthens me in continuing my story of all the voices that are being silenced. I speak on their behalf.” – Mohamedou Ould Slahi
This season Mohamedou is working on the new Club Guy & Roni performance FORTUNE.
Last season, his Guantanamo Diary formed the base for FREEDOM.
